‘I’m wearing long johns under my bustle!’ Susan Boyle transforms in period clothing as she films her big screen debut
Susan Boyle is having a special song written for her to sing in her film debut.
The Scottish singer has been cast in a movie called The Christmas Candle playing the wife of the church warden involved in a magical Christmas where an angel visits the fictitious village of Gladbury every 25 years.
She and the rest of the ensemble cast started shooting the movie this week.

Boyle swept to international fame after appearing on Britain’s Got Talent singing I Dreamed A Dream from Les Miserables.
Her albums I Dreamed A Dream, The Gift, Someone to Watch Over Me and Standing Ovation became huge hits, despite not winning the ITV talent show.
In the movie, which also stars Les Miserable actress Samantha Barks, Lesley Manville, Hans Matheson, Sylvester McCoy, John Hannah and James Cosmo – who plays her screen husband, Boyle will perform a hymn in the village church.
