After Tyler Henry underwent surgery to remove a brain tumor, the celebrity medium shared an update on his health journey.Â
Tyler Henry is on the mend.Â
After the Hollywood Medium was diagnosed with a colloid tumor near the center of his brain, he shared that he underwent a successful brain surgery to remove it.
âGreat prognosis, incredible staff, and I feel so thankful to be surrounded by my family,â Tyler wrote in a May 14 Instagram post. âIâll be on bedrest for a month and look forward to getting back to doing readings.âÂ
He noted that âmostâ of the colloid tumor, also called a colloid cystâa slow-growing tumor that is found in the brain and can cause a buildup of fluid in the organ if too largeâhad âbeen removed.â
âThis isnât my first rodeo with this,â he continued, âI have so much to be thankful for – Iâll see yaâll very soon with lots of thought-provoking subjects and of course, readings.â
Indeed, the 29-year-old has taken fans along his ongoing health journey, which, as he previously shared, first began at age 18 when doctors found a âcongenital brain cyst that led to emergency surgery after weeks of headaches.â
âA mass I was born with was only now causing a life-threatening situation as my adult life was just beginning,â he wrote in a 2023 Instagram post. âWithout the inevitable brain surgery that ensued, I donât think I would of had such a firsthand awareness of the fragility of life.â
Following his February 2014 brain surgery, Tyler reflected on being diagnosed with the tumor just one day after jogging âtwo milesâ and âworking in my garden.â
âThe saying, âDeath stops for no oneâ is one I replayed in my mind as I laid in the bed in the ICU with a piercing headache,â he wrote on Facebook that September. âThe first night in the hospital was the worst. Doctors often have a time wording things in the most unsettling of ways.â

âWhen I went into the ER for what felt like a migraine, a CT scan was ordered and the results were prefaced with, âIt’s never good when you’re the most interesting case in the emergency room. Today you’re that case,ââ he continued. âKnowing that I had a stroke wasn’t what bothered me. Not knowing what the grape-sized mass on my brain stem was was the unsettling part.â
As he grew stronger in the following months, the reality star shared what he learned from the harrowing experience.
âIt showed me what really matters and what doesn’t,â he wrote. âIt showed me my strengths, my weaknesses, and a small glimpse into the vast unknown — and how close I came to untimely figuring it out.â
âMore than anything, it’s vital that we do our best to appreciate every moment we have,â he continued. âUse your energy, focus, and concentration wisely. What you direct it at is what defines your life. It’s as simple as that.”
