Black smoke in the Vatican, the cardinals’ second attempt fails

The conclave failed to elect the new pope even in the second round of voting.

133 cardinals under the age of 80 from around the world cast their votes to elect the new head of the Catholic Church.

However, none of the candidates received two-thirds of the votes.

Three more rounds of voting are expected to take place this Thursday. If we see black smoke from all these rounds from the Sistine Chapel, then the process for selecting the new pope will continue again tomorrow and in the following days until there is white smoke from the Vatican.
