Savannah Chrisley Reunites With Todd Chrisley in Florida After Prison Release

Todd Chrisley is back with his family.

The Chrisley Knows Best alum reunited with his daughter Savannah Chrisley May 28 after being released from a federal prison in Pensacola, Fla., where he was serving his sentence for tax evasion and bank fraud charges before being pardoned by President Donald Trump.

Savannah shared a glimpse of their car ride home to her Instagram Stories, in which Todd can be heard joking around about building his physique during his sentence.

“Feel my muscles,” Todd tells Savannah, to which the 27-year-old confirms that he’s “jacked.”

Earlier in the day, Savannah appeared to make a pit stop as she traveled to pick up her dad, posting a photo of a nearby burger stop on her social media.

While the pardon also secured the early release of Todd’s wife Julie Chrisley, she was incarcerated states away in Lexington, Ky., and was not present for the initial reunion between Todd and Savannah.

The couple still had several years remaining on their respective sentences before the pardon. Todd was previously set to remain behind bars until April 2032 while Julie was to remain in custody until January 2028.

After Trump revealed his intention to pardon the couple—who were found guilty in 2022 despite maintaining their innocence in the case—Savannah shared her emotional reaction to the good news.

“Both my parents are coming home tonight or tomorrow and I still don’t believe it’s real,” she said in a video posted on Instagram May 27. “I’m freaking out.”

Savannah also thanked her family’s supporters for “sticking with” them amid their legal saga.

“I just can’t thank you guys enough,” she continued. “They’re coming. My parents get to start their lives over.”

Meanwhile, Savannah’s brother Kyle Chrisley—whom Todd shares with ex-wife Teresa Terry—celebrated the pardon as well despite his ongoing estrangement from his family.

“I’m ecstatic,” the 33-year-old exclusively told E! News. “Truly. I just found out a little bit ago and I still just can’t believe it.”

Kyle also expressed his hope that his parents’ fresh start might also be a turning point in his relationship with them.

“I know they can’t wait to get home and just be with family,” he shared, “and I’m going to remain hopeful that another reconciliation is possible.”

Indicted on Tax Evasion and Other ChargesTodd and Julie Chrisley were indicted on 12 counts by a federal grand jury in Atlanta in August 2019 on charges included wire fraud, conspiracy to commit bank fraud and conspiracy to defraud the United States, according to a document obtained by NBC News. Prosecutors claimed fraud began in the mid-aughts—inclusive of evading nearly $2 million in state taxes between 2008 and 2016 and hiding over $1 million dollars from the IRS.The day before the indictment was issued, Todd maintained he and his wife were innocent, and instead said a trusted employee had been stealing from and blackmailing the couple.”We have nothing to hide and have done nothing to be ashamed of,” he wrote in a statement posted to Instagram. “Not only do we know we’ve done nothing wrong, but we’ve got a ton of hard evidence and bunch of corroborating witnesses that proves it.”

Todd and Julie Found GuiltyIt wasn’t until three years later that the Chrisley Knows Best stars went to trial. Following three weeks of testimonies, the pair, who had pleaded not guilty, were convicted on all counts of tax evasion and bank fraud on June 7, 2022.The U.S. attorney’s office had alleged the duo and their accountant Peter Tarantino—who stood trial with them—conspired to defraud banks out of more than $30 million over the course of a decade. “As today’s outcome shows, when you lie, cheat and steal, justice is blind as to your fame, your fortune, and your position,” Keri Farley, Special Agent in Charge of FBI Atlanta, said in a June 2022 statement. “In the end, when driven by greed, the verdict of guilty on all counts for these three defendants proves once again that financial crimes do not pay.”
