Elon Musk Deletes Controversial Post About Trump as Epstein Case Scrutiny Grows

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, SpaceX, and Starlink, appears to have taken a step toward easing tensions with former President Donald Trump following a public spat earlier this week. The billionaire entrepreneur recently deleted a post on X (formerly Twitter) in which he suggested Trump’s name was tied to sealed documents from the Jeffrey Epstein investigation.

Musk’s now-deleted post claimed Trump was mentioned in unreleased Epstein files and implied this was why they had not yet been made public. However, following backlash and public denials from those familiar with the case, Musk quietly removed the message.

The post drew immediate attention, prompting responses from individuals who have worked closely on the Epstein case. David Schoen, a criminal defense attorney who represented Epstein shortly before his death in federal custody in 2019, firmly dismissed the allegation. In a statement on X, Schoen said, “I can say authoritatively, unequivocally, and definitively that [Epstein] had no information to hurt President Trump. I specifically asked him.”

Adding to the rebuttals, Michael Cohen, Trump’s former attorney and longtime associate, also denied the claim. Speaking in an interview, Cohen said he had no knowledge of any link between Trump and Epstein’s undisclosed files, labeling the suggestion as false based on his years of close involvement with Trump.

Meanwhile, interest in the Epstein case remains high. Former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi recently revealed that federal investigators are still reviewing extensive materials, including what she described as “tens of thousands of videos” related to Epstein’s activities. Bondi explained that the vast amount of digital evidence is one of the reasons for the slow pace of file releases.

In Congress, House Oversight Committee Chair Rep. James Comer has expressed concern over the delay in releasing Epstein-related documents. Speaking recently, Comer noted that despite directives from the executive branch to make the files public, many remain classified or sealed. He warned that critical records could be lost or destroyed if transparency is not prioritized.

The Epstein case continues to generate national interest due to the prominent individuals once associated with him. While some documents have been made public over the years, key materials remain unreleased, sparking speculation and calls for accountability.

Although Musk has not issued a formal explanation for deleting his original post, the move suggests a shift in tone as the public and legal scrutiny surrounding Epstein’s case intensifies. For now, all eyes remain on both federal agencies and Congress as they continue investigating one of the most controversial criminal cases in recent memory.
