Elon Musk Blasts Trumpās āBig Beautiful Billā in Fiery Exit
Just days after stepping down from the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), Elon Musk launched a full-throated attack on Donald Trumpās newest fiscal package.
From Ally to Adversary
Once seen as Trumpās go-to man for bureaucratic reform, Musk wasted no time turning on the administrationās āOne Big Beautiful Bill.ā On social media, he called it a ādisgusting abominationā that betrayed the principles of smart spending and reform.
The bill passed the House by a single vote on May 22. Pitched as a populist win for working-class Americans, it offers tax breaks through 2028āsuch as eliminating taxes on tips and pausing overtime penalties. It also reallocates billions toward military and border security.
Musk, however, isnāt buying the hype.
Musk Slams Billās Scope
Speaking to CBS Sunday Morning, Musk said he was ādisappointedā by the billās size and impact.
āIt increases the deficit and undermines everything DOGE stood for,ā he warned.
Then came the zinger:
āA bill can be big or beautiful. But not both.ā
Deep Cuts and Controversy
The bill slashes Medicaid and SNAP benefits to offset lost tax revenue. It also restricts healthcare access for undocumented immigrants and scales back support for gender transition services.
The Congressional Budget Office estimates 8.6 million people could lose healthcare coverage.
Trump, however, sees it differently.
āThis is the largest mandatory spending cut EVER,ā he posted on Truth Social. āWeāre ending tax on tips, overtime, and Social Security for seniors. And SNAP? Itās for Americans ONLY!ā
Tesla in the Crosshairs
Muskās criticism may go beyond ideology. The bill eliminates tax credits for electric vehiclesāa direct blow to Tesla. Trump didnāt hold back either.
In his June 2 post, he wrote:
āIt will restore choice for car buyers by REPEALING Bidenās EV mandate and all GREEN NEW SCAM spending.ā

Space Drama Unfolds
Meanwhile, the FAA reportedly dropped Muskās Starlink from future air traffic plans.
And Trump pulled Jared IsaacmanāMuskās close allyāfrom NASAās leadership shortlist.
āAfter reviewing prior associations, Iām withdrawing Jared Isaacmanās nomination,ā Trump posted on May 31. āWe need someone who puts America First in Space.ā
Musk Goes Nuclear Online
The backlash continued online.
āThis pork-filled spending bill is a disgusting abomination,ā Musk wrote on X, June 3. āShame on those who supported it. You know you did wrong.ā
He didnāt stop there.
āIt will push the deficit to $2.5 trillion and saddle Americans with unsustainable debt. Congress is bankrupting the country.ā
The White House Responds
Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt shrugged off the criticism.
āThe president already knows Muskās opinion,ā she said. āIt doesnāt change his.ā
A Political Pivot?
Muskās fiery takedown signals more than disagreementāit marks a shift.
Heās no longer playing by Washingtonās rules.
With a powerful social media platform at his fingertips, Musk may be gearing up for a new role in American politics.
