Sean “Diddy” Combs Trial Live Updates Week 4: Former Employee Returns to Continue Testimony

Sean “Diddy” Combs is back in court.

The rap mogul’s former assistant—who has been called “Mia” for the duration of her testimony—kicked off the 14th day of his sex trafficking trial June 2 with continued testimony of alleged abuse during her employment, according to NBC News reporters in the courtroom.

After Mia undergoes cross-examination by Combs’ defense and a redirect from prosecutors, witnesses in connection with the InterContinental Hotel in Los Angeles—where the Bad Boy Records founder was seen assaulting his then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in 2016 footage released by CNN last May—are set to testify, according to the outlet.

Employees at the hotel that Combs often hosted his alleged “freak offs,” including supervisor Eddy Garcia and custodian Sylvia Okun will take the stand, as well as forensic expert Frank Piazza, who examined the hotel footage of the attack against Ventura. Like Combs’ former assistant George Kaplan earlier in the trial, Garcia was provided immunity in exchange for his testimony.

Last week, “Mia” shared insight into her experience working under her former employer, whom she accused of sexually assaulting her during his 40th birthday party, telling jurors that after pouring her three shots of vodka, “He put his arm next to my head up against the wall and leaned in to like kiss me and put his other hand up the side of my dress.”

“I was shocked, and I froze,” she said, alleging that she did not consent to the incident. “I didn’t even process what was happening.”

“Mia,” who testified that she was under constant fear of being “emotionally or possibly physically abused” by Combs while working for him, said that she witnessed him “attack” Ventura on several occasions.

“I’ve seen him throw her on the ground,” she said. “I’ve seen him like crack her head open. I’ve seen him chase her. Things like that.”

Combs has pleaded not guilty to sex trafficking, prostitution, racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, as well as transportation to engage in prostitution.
