egendary guitarist Carlos Santana, 77, was hospitalized on Tuesday after suffering a health scare just hours before a scheduled performance in San Antonio, Texas. The incident forced the cancellation of his planned show at the Majestic Theatre, part of his highly anticipated Oneness Tour 2025.
Health Scare Ahead of San Antonio Concert
According to a statement released by Santana’s manager, Michael Vrionis, the iconic musician began experiencing symptoms of dehydration while preparing backstage at the venue.
“Mr. Santana was at the Majestic Theatre preparing for tonight’s show when he experienced an event that was determined to be dehydration,” Vrionis shared. “Out of an abundance of caution and for the health of Mr. Santana, the decision to postpone the show was the most prudent course of action.”
Santana is currently under medical observation but is said to be in stable condition.
Santana Recovering, Tour Expected to Resume
Vrionis assured fans that Santana is “doing well” and remains optimistic about returning to the stage soon.
“Carlos is looking forward to coming back to San Antonio and continuing his U.S. tour,” he added.
A Similar Incident in 2022
This is not the first time Santana has faced a medical issue on tour. In July 2022, he collapsed on stage at the Pine Knob Music Theatre in Clarkston, Michigan, also due to heat exhaustion and dehydration. That incident, like the current one, prompted concern but was followed by a quick recovery.
Fans who were set to attend the San Antonio concert are advised to hold onto their tickets, as the show will be rescheduled.
