1953 wedding photo found in book returns to American family

A volunteer at the Sterling Heights Public Library in Michigan found a 1950s wedding photo inside a donated book.

The photo was reportedly identified by the couple’s granddaughter, Sarah Ruggirello, after a social media post from the library.

Sarah confirmed that the photo was from her grandparents’ wedding in Detroit on September 26, 1953.

Frank died in 2020 and Josephine in 2023, after 67 years of marriage.

The photo, previously unknown to the family, has now become a treasured keepsake.

“My dad and I had never seen this photo before. Now I’m going to frame it and display it at home,” Sarah said.
