Daily InspireWhitney Purvis has suffered a devastating loss.
The 16 and Pregnant star shared that her son Weston Gosa Jr. died on June 2. He was 16.
“This is so hard to write,” Whitney wrote on Facebook June 2. “My beautiful son, Weston has passed away.”
“Life is so cruel and unfair. I just dont understand,” she continued. “Oh my baby is gone and I don’t know what to do with myself. He was so perfect. This is really my worst nightmare come true. How do you go on in life after losing a child? I’m in disbelief, this cannot be happening. I don’t want it to be real. I would do anything just to hold him. Words just can’t describe the pain I am feeling.”
Whitney—who didn’t reveal his cause of death—went on to share the love she had for her son.
“I love you so much, Weston Owen Gosa. God, I love you so much,” she wrote. “You are my heart. I was so proud of the young man you were becoming. I just can’t go on without you. Rest in Peace, my angel. You are gone too soon.”
Whitney—who appeared on the MTV show in 2009—added that she’ll “never understand why life has to be so cruel.”
Weston’s stepmom Amy Gosa gave additional details on the circumstances surrounding the teen’s passing, writing on Facebook they tried to wake him up at 7 a.m. but couldn’t.
“He was not breathing, we attempted CPR and called an ambulance,” she wrote. “The paramedics attempted it as well and took him to the hospital in Gordon County [Georgia] where he was pronounced dead.”
She noted that Weston had “several health issues,” including diabetes. He had also been diagnosed with a genetic disorder called Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency, which can cause lung and liver damage.
Amy added that the family is waiting on an autopsy to determine cause of death.

Their son James Andrew Glennon was born May 8, 2018, and Andrew was awarded custody in 2022.
Amber got engaged to Gary Wayt, introduced as her boyfriend on Teen Mom: The Next Chapter, days before he went missing on June 9, 2024. He turned up less than a week later, with North Carolina police saying the case was closed.
